LanguageMAP is designed around a scalable client-server architecture, to ensure that the system can grow and adapt to meet the demands of the international client base.
The LanguageMAP engine is built from innovative technology housed at the University of Queensland, based around a MySQL(TM) database, running on a Linux(TM) server. This combination of technologies was chosen for the power, robustness and flexibility which it provides, as well as the accessibility of the open-source architecture.
Clients interact with the system using familiar and globally accessible technology: a Java(TM)-enabled web-browser is all that is required for a student to sit a test, or an ESL teacher to administer a set of activities for her students.
